I opened my first studio on the east side of Vancouver while in my last year of study at Emily Carr University.  Settling into a studio practise was a thrilling adventure that brought about some amazing opportunities.  The now bustling warehouse enclave of Yale Town was just emerging as a destination to trend forward shopping and restaurants.  I was fortunate to spend a lot of my time, in Vancouver, designing and building retail spaces in this vibrant and creative area of Vancouver.

After many years in Vancouver my wife and I decided to move back home to Saskatchewan and I re-established my practice in Regina.  As an artist this was a time to move into a more intimate studio practice that focused more on Sculpture than on commercial retail environments.  I was again fortunate to experienced many opportunities, in modest ways, to create sculpture in the public realm.  As my experience with building large scale projects grew so did a curiosity for architecture.  A this time I decided to head back to school and through the Royal Architectural Institute of Canada I studied Architecture in a  combination of class work and mentorship through work under a licensed architect.

I have  spent many years now engaged in the design and construction of the built environment.  Emerging from my time designing and detailing buildings, is a studio practice with a more integrated approach to the world of design and art.   The original thrill present at the first steps to becoming a professional artist and designer lives on. My practice continues to be ever changing and filled with just enough angst and bare knuckle unpredictability to know forward is always the right direction…
